Today’s Schedule



Prom this year will take place at Café 210 on May 12, 2018.

Prom Tickets may be purchased now. $35 a single Ticket and $60 for 2.


There will be a Key Club meeting today at lunch starting at 12:50 in Room 50.  All members and any new members are welcomed!  We will be discussing upcoming community service opportunities so come sign up to volunteer!


Readers Make Leaders Book Club will meet NEXT week Thursday to discuss the book Coraline.  Come to watch the movie after school on the same day. 


Reminder juniors:

Portfolios are due May 8th, 2018.  Please check your Woodlake High School email for additional information.


Students: You can earn Community Service hours at the Woodlake Airport on Saturday, May 5th.  Your job will be helping children register for the FREE airplane rides. They need help starting from 7AM – 3PM. You can work some hours or all day. You will be helping the children register, airplane assignments, escorting children to the planes. Some might even help in the Control tower if help is needed there. You must commit to short meeting on Thursday, May 3rd to go over the safety rules!


Seniors all fines must be paid to be eligible to participate in any Senior Activities.  Please see Mari for payment arrangements.


Students: If any of you are interested in performing at the Cinco De Mayo Rally, auditions will take place in Rm. 50 during lunch on Monday April 23rd. The rally will be on Friday May 4th. If you have any questions, please stop by and see Ms. Moya



Do you have a voice like Selena or Adele? Do you have moves like Jagger?  Are you talented in other ways or have a unique ability?  Then Leadership is looking for you!  WHS Leadership will be hosting a Talent Show this spring.  Cash prizes will be given for our top performers.  This event will be held in the PAB and the audience will be open to the community.  Don't be shy, come out and show us that you've got talent!  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Sanchez or Ms. Isela Tenorio to sign up!


Attention sophomores and juniors:

 If you are interested in visiting UC Davis and CSU Sacramento on April 24th, 2018 please come by the counseling office and pick up a permission slip. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. You must have a 3.0 GPA and meet current eligibility requirements.

Please sign up before school, during brunch, lunch or after school and pick up a permission slip.


Attn: Juniors and sophomores: The application deadline for the  Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project (CLYLP) has been extended to April 25, 2018, check your email for the link emailed to your student email account, and apply now if you are still interested.


Seniors-You must have all 85 Community Service hours completed by May 4th to participate in the graduation ceremony! If your hours are not completed you will not be able to attend Grad Night on May 5th.

Community Service Opportunity – Woodlake Lions Rodeo needs help in their BBQ Booth May 12th & 13, Duties will be helping serve, restock BBQ Sauce, and clean off tables. If interested see Christy in the front office.


The Summer School 2018 Applications are available.  You may pick the application up in the counseling office.

 You may only pick up an application BEFORE School, AFTER School, and during BRUNCH and LUNCH.

 Applications are DUE APRIL 30, 2018 by 3:30 p.m.  Students who submit their application by the deadline will be given priority in being entered in the lottery for enrollment.

 Students who have failed a high school diploma required course will automatically be enrolled in summer school, unless your parents opt you out from attending.  Letters will be mailed home today to notify your parents if you are being mandated to attend summer school.



April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Sexual violence thrives when it is not taken seriously and victim blaming goes unchecked. MyVoice and MyStrength are challenging everyone to use their words to promote safety, respect, and equality to stop sexual violence before it happens. Community Service


Community Service Opportunity:

Any students interested in helping with stocking and replacing books for the Children’s Path to Literacy project in around the Woodlake Community please come sign up with Mrs. Peña in the front office. 


Woodlake Youth Baseball is in need of any high school students wanting community service hours. We need two coaches, one for a t-ball and one for a rookie team. If interested please contact Mike Flores at (559)303-8757. Thank you


 Woodlake Family Resource Center is looking for students to volunteer in the office for community service hours.  If you are interested please contact Mr.G at 564-5212.



The new Camp Zap 2018 dates are scheduled for May 19-20, 2018. Any high school may sign up but we are looking to send good role model students; who are willing to supervision children in grades 3, 4 & 5. You need to be willing to help the children have an enjoyable and great outdoors experience. Pick up a Camp Zap application in the counseling office. You may NOT drive your vehicle to Camp Zap, nor are you allowed to leave early.




All eligible students in grades 9th - 12th may apply for the American College Foundation ~ Visionary Scholarship Program. If you are interested apply online at: www.AmericanCollegeFoundation.org.  Awards will range from $1,000 to $5,000. Deadline May 1, 2018.

American College Foundation - Visionary Scholarship Program (Grades 9-12)

DEADLINE: May 1, 2018

AMOUNT OF AWARD: Ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 with multiple winners.

This scholarship is available to all students in grades 9-12.   Click on Visionary Scholarship, and then scroll to where it reads “How to apply,” and then the Registration Page.  Apply at www.AmeicanCollegeFoundation.org.  All applications for the (ACF) Visionary Scholarship Program will consist of: 1) a completed ACF Visionary Scholarship Application, 2) student’s unofficial high school transcript, 3) a 500 word, typed, double-spaced essay. All components of the application must be received for a student to be eligible for an award. Applications are judged on the ability to follow guidelines (25%), grammar and punctuation (25%), and the merit of the written essay (50%). Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens and may be asked to participate in a qualification interview as part of the application process to assist the ACF in ultimately determining the winners. All are one-time awards, non-renewable, and are to be used exclusively to offset costs and fees related directly to the student’s first year of higher post-secondary education at an accredited institution.
